HENDI has teamed up with Dutch industrial designer Robert Bronwasser to give some old familiar HENDI classics a new shine. A fresher look thanks to new colour accents and improved functionality make HENDI tools the best Tools for Chefs worldwide.

Design that brings out a smile!
After the formal finalisation of the collaboration, Robert Bronwasser had started to analyse our HENDI Tools for Chefs in detail. In particular, he wanted to see to what extent they meet the needs of users in gastronomy, hotel and catering businesses and what exactly the users of our products expect from them. His results were clear: "They want full control over their equipment. Furthermore, they want to see what additional functionality a kitchen appliance brings from other gastronomic perspectives. They prefer manual to digital control and it must always be easy to operate, even under difficult conditions in everyday kitchen life. They love clear design, but this must always be functional.“

Against this background, Robert Bronwasser presented his first sketches and models. The freshness and determination in the design immediately attracted attention. The distinctive rotary control, a classic HENDI element, was given a textured surface for extra grip and a highly visible green line so that the selected settings are always clearly visible.

Apart from the aforementioned manual controls, Robert Bronwasser also worked on the complete redesign of a hand blender, a créme brûlée burner and a range of kettles and percolators, among other things. The results again exceeded expectations. Through simple design, matt black surfaces with coloured accents and a haptically appealing mix of high-quality stainless steel and plastic, HENDI classics were reinterpreted and timeless design objects were created. In addition to their wonderfully striking design and expressiveness, you will recognise the Tools for Chefs designed exclusively for HENDI by Robert Bronwasser above all by the "Design by Bronwasser" label.

Awarded design.
Robert Bronwasser is a renowned Dutch industrial designer who has already worked for well-known brands such as Heineken or Lipton and has received several design awards for his work. At the GIO Awards on 20.10.2021 in Eindhoven (NL), Robert Bronwasser and HENDI received recognition and the "Good Industrial Design" award for the entire "Design by Bronwasser" product line. The award is the result of an intensive collaboration that defines kitchen appliances optimally tailored to the needs of the catering industry as its goal.

The GIO Awards are the most important independent design prize in the Netherlands and are awarded annually by The Designlink Foundation: "Recognition within the framework of the GIO is thus not a prize, but a seal of quality for good design craftsmanship." Award-winning products meet professional design standards in terms of technical functionality, ergonomics, originality, appearance and ecology.
